This garden contains everything you would wish for as a garden owner. Think spacious terraces and a sturdy canopy with outdoor kitchen, but also beautiful natural plants with adventurous paths to explore. A wonderful natural wellness experience in which nature and its seasons play the leading role, and in which you automatically go on an adventure and can relax.
This reportage was photographed in August and October, in the garden’s third and fourth seasons. You can clearly see how the garden changes color during autumn. While photographing the garden, beautiful conversations took place at the kitchen table with the owners, who told enthusiastically about their garden. How they walk around daily, enjoy working in it and many a birthday is celebrated in the garden.
The design of the garden comes from a number of logical choices. On the one hand, we have to deal with neighbors we want to hide from view. We moved some existing mature pines (Pinus nigra) there. Together with the evergreen Yew-clouds and the pole wall, they ensure privacy in both summer and winter. The other side of the garden overlooks the Limburg landscape. There the garden is a lot more open to experience the borrowed landscape.
We deliberately placed the canopy behind the natural pond. There you have the longest enjoyment of the sun and to get there you have to walk through the garden so you experience the place. The route to the canopy is made adventurous with a nice walkway, halfway a break spot with two nice chairs and an adventurous path through the plants. Once you arrive on the terrace, you will lack nothing on the spacious decking, with the lovely relaxing furniture and outdoor kitchen. The natural pond itself provides life, with the surface of the water reflecting the surrounding nature such as the Dogwood and Larix with their beautiful autumn colors and the sky.
In Western landscaping we often strive for a perfected picture, but we take our inspiration from the Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy. A refreshing approach that honestly shows nature with all its imperfections, impermanence and mutability. It is precisely this changeability that we should embrace more. Moving with the seasons. Indeed, by experiencing nature in our gardens, we are more aware that we ourselves are part of it.
Hence our slogan “Experience your Nature.
