The Liskeshoeve _ Winner sustainable garden 2012
In 2007 a long cherished dream of the owners of the Liskeshoeve came true with a spectacular renovation. The result is a cool modern long-faced farmhouse with large windows. It was our task to design the surrounding terrain in an adequate manner.
Because the farm is located in the Peel area we decided to mostly “return” the terrain of about 5000m2 to the Peel. The garden is authentic with loamy pond, birch, oak and pipe straws that have been uprooted from the Peel further down the road. Furthermore, the terrain is largely sown with beautiful floral blends which emphasizes the rural character of the outlying area. The lines of sight from the house have been extended in a special way in the garden design. Tight and organic, open and intimate are alternated.
The Atelier | Gallery VONC, at which courses and workshops in painting and sculpture are given, is embedded in a natural way. For example, we opted for a cart track instead of hardening to get to the studio. Just like the owners, students can walk an adventurous route through the garden along the water through exciting mowed paths that have been created. Every week something new grows or blossoms. In short, a special garden to discover and to ground in.
A sustainable garden in which art, environment, ecology and architecture play the leading role. In 2012 we received the award for the Most Sustainable Garden 2012.
